There is a Memorial Plaque dedicated to our Shipmate Marvin G. Shields CM 3 at the U. S. Navy Memorial in Washington, DC. There is also a Seabee Memorial Scholarship Association (SMSA) scholarship named in his honor. IT IS HEREWITH PROPOSED THAT WE THE “NAVY CONSTRUCTION FORCES”ALONG WITH OUR FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS INCREASE THE CURRENT AMOUNT FROM ITS CURRENT $7,100.00 VALUE TO THE AMOUNT of $50,000.00 TO BETTER SUPPORT THE RECIPIENTS.
With a contribution of a minimum of $10.00, together, we can attain our goal on or before before the Anniversary date of June 10, 2015. The current value of newly-funded SMSA scholarships is $50,000.00 and was established in 2012.
